Sullivan County Nh Delegation Public Hearing
The public hearing discussed the proposed fiscal year 2026 county budget, which includes a 9.99% increase to property taxes. The increase is mainly due to a construction project. The nursing home census will bounce back within a year which will improve the nursing home revenue with only minor increases in expenses for staff. The board of commissioners are confident that they are delivering great value for taxpayers through this investment and daily operations of all aspects of the county government. A significant portion of the budget is allocated to staff costs, including wages, retirement, and healthcare. The county is also refreshing the sheriff's vehicle fleet.

Sullivan County Safety Action Plan 2035
Sullivan County's Safety Action Plan (SAP) serves as a comprehensive roadmap towards achieving a transportation system with zero traffic fatalities and serious injuries. The plan is grounded in a Safe Systems Approach, emphasizing six core assumptions including the unacceptability of road deaths and shared responsibility for safety. It aims to reduce traffic deaths and severe injuries by 50 percent by 2035 and endorses Vision Zero principles. The strategy involves a data-driven analysis of crashes from 2019-2023 to identify critical high-injury locations for the implementation of proven safety countermeasures throughout the county, including Langdon.
