Recent board meeting, budget, plan, and contract evidence, connected to the buyer and relevant decision-makers.
- The board's April motion led OPS to complete a structured options analysis for a new training center, narrowing choices to two feasible options. - OPS reduced the proposed $233 million project cost to $199 million by descoping non-mission-critical elements like a gym and skywalk. - The committee requested detailed costing sheets and additional analysis on CSPA-driven training requirements and the firing range's 25% share of costs. - OPS plans to complete the business case by year-end and return to the board in early 2027 for project approval, with funding options still under exploration.
- Consultants are performing ship simulations for task order three, coordinating with pilots, the Corps of Engineers, and ERDC. - Hydrodynamic model calibration and runs continue, including Delft 3D, Mike 21, and Boussinesq wave modeling setup. - Rice University proposed the Bay Intelligence Engine, an AI platform to integrate and interpret simulation models for stakeholders over a one-year timeline. - The board plans to discuss the Bay Intelligence Engine in executive session before deciding, leaving vendor selection open.
