The USGS Western Ecological Research Center seeks a veterinary provider to surgically implant up to 100 GPS-GSM transmitters in diving waterfowl and provide post-operative care. Work is at Don Edwards National Wildlife Refuge and the USGS Moffett Campus during winter migration, with up to 20 work days annually for a one-year base period and an optional second year. The contractor supplies qualified veterinary personnel and performs field surgery, animal care, and sample collection; the government supplies transmitters and permits.
